The Breckenridge and Summit County statistics ended the year on a positive note.  The inventory levels continue to remain at an all time low and list prices continue to make their way higher.  Rounding out the year, there were 734 residential properties that sold in Breckenridge, which was an 11.72% increase compared to the end of 2014.  The Summit County residential market posted a 17% gain in the number of properties sold in 2015, with 2350 residential properties sold.

The Summit Association of Realtors was privileged to host the powerhouse breakfast meeting at The Lodge At Breckenridge this morning with the CEOs of the local ski areas, some of the top and most visited ski resorts in the world.  A common opinion topic of discussion among these leaders was the concern for employee housing and the plans of working closely with local towns, communities and counties to work on solutions for this in the future.  John Buhler, the CEO for Breckenridge, mentioned that Vail Resorts had slated $30 million as an initial step to investigate and initiate plans to help resolve this issue.Summit County Colorado Ski Area Bosses

Today kicks off the annual celebration of Ullr Fest in Breckenridge. Grab your Viking horns and start doing your Ullr dance! We need some fresh powder. Ullr Fest is celebrating its 53rd year with events that you will not want to miss. Tonight, the festivities begin with the Breck Ascent Series, the crowning of the Ullr King and Queen, and Breck's Got Talent. Tomorrow is the most bizarre parade you will ever witness! The Ullr parade is known for its quirkiness- with people underdressed for the frigid temperatures, doing back flips on skis off of a truck, and hot tubing down Main Street. And the family events continue on with the Ullr Bonfire, Ullr ice plunge, and Ullympics. Join in on the fun from January 13-16, 2016.

How did it get to be the holiday season already?  The ski season is in full swing after a tremendous start with snow continuing to fall.  Breckenridge Ski Resort has reported 22 inches of snow in the last seven days and all Peaks are open.  Let's just keep dancing to Ullr to keep the snow a comin'!

The ski season has been off to a great start so far.  The Breckenridge Ski Resort continues to open up new terrain regularly.  In the last couple of days, there has been a foot of fresh powder.  The conditions are pretty remarkable.  This week's weather forecast is looking pretty optimistic if you are looking for some powder ski days.  They are anticipating that the snow will start later this afternoon and will fall through Thursday.  By the end of the week, we are hoping to see another foot of accumulation.

December is a busy time of year in Breckenridge.  The holiday season is in full swing!

Tomorrow, come join in on the fun at the annual Race of the Santas and Reindeer.  Starting at 4:30 p.m., over a 100 holiday enthusiasts will dress up as Santa and race down the historic Main Street, Breckenridge.  You can jump, skip, walk, or run the race!  If you are under 12 years old and want to participate, then register and get a free pair of reindeer antlers to race alongside Santa.  The whole family will have a blast!  The event is for a great cause, raising money for the local Adopt and Angel program.  The proceeds earned will help provide gifts for local families that otherwise would not be able to have Christmas.  At the finish line, enjoy cookies and hot…

The Breckenridge Outdoor Education and the Breckenridge Ski Resort welcomed some of the most amazing athletes to ever hit the slopes.  Today through December 6th, one of the largest winter sports festivals for those with disabilities will be held in Breckenridge.  The Hartford Financial Group sponsors the annual event, giving those that otherwise would not be able to enjoy winter sports, the opportunity to do so.  More than 800 registered participants will be taking to the slopes at the Breckenridge Ski Resort for a week of fun!  Participants can take ski or snowboard lessons, enjoy the week long race camp, Nordic skiing, banquets and other networking events.   It is a wonderful event.  Thanks to everyone that makes this possible!
