Breckenridge Ski Resort Snow Updates

As the crews at the Breckenridge Ski Resort keeping working overtime for opening day, they had a little help from Ullr last night.  The resort reported 5 inches of fresh snow and great snowmaking temps.  The snowmakers have been doing more than their share of creating the treasured white stuff to get the 2016/2017 ski season started. 

On November 19th at 9 a.m., the Colorado SuperChair on Peak 8 will start for the season.  It may not be the best ski run of the year, but it gets everyone excited and cheering to Ullr to keep bringing on the powder.  As dust off your ski boots and skis and get ready to clip in tomorrow!

The month of March can have some amazing blue bird days- fresh snow, warm temps, and sunshine.  Last night, the Breckenridge Ski Resort reported 9 inches of fresh snow, proving that March can be one of the best times to ski.

Spring breakers have arrived to experience one of the finest spring break celebrations in the Colorado high country.  Breckenridge Spring Fever festivities officially begin this weekend with the GoPro Big Mountain Challenge, on Peak 6.   Some of the best free-skiers in the industry will be challenged with the steep pitches and narrow chutes.  To get the best views, take the Kenosha Chairlift to the Sixth Sense terrain.

The Summit Association of Realtors was privileged to host the powerhouse breakfast meeting at The Lodge At Breckenridge this morning with the CEOs of the local ski areas, some of the top and most visited ski resorts in the world.  A common opinion topic of discussion among these leaders was the concern for employee housing and the plans of working closely with local towns, communities and counties to work on solutions for this in the future.  John Buhler, the CEO for Breckenridge, mentioned that Vail Resorts had slated $30 million as an initial step to investigate and initiate plans to help resolve this issue.Summit County Colorado Ski Area Bosses

How did it get to be the holiday season already?  The ski season is in full swing after a tremendous start with snow continuing to fall.  Breckenridge Ski Resort has reported 22 inches of snow in the last seven days and all Peaks are open.  Let's just keep dancing to Ullr to keep the snow a comin'!

The ski season has been off to a great start so far.  The Breckenridge Ski Resort continues to open up new terrain regularly.  In the last couple of days, there has been a foot of fresh powder.  The conditions are pretty remarkable.  This week's weather forecast is looking pretty optimistic if you are looking for some powder ski days.  They are anticipating that the snow will start later this afternoon and will fall through Thursday.  By the end of the week, we are hoping to see another foot of accumulation.

The beginning of February did not see much snow accumulations, but this last storm is leaving its mark. In the last 24 hours, the Breckenridge Ski Resort reported 9 inches of fresh powder. The whole mountain is covered in beautiful white, fluffy powder! The forecast for the last week of February is looking good too. Forecasters are predicting more snow.

Breckenridge Ski Resort is 100 percent open for the season! Today, the last of the peaks, Peak 10, was open to the season, making it official that all of the terrain is now open. On December 16th, the famous Peak 6 opened for the season with some of the best powder throughout the resort. Access some the additional 543 skiable acres via the Zendo and Kensho Superchair. Catch your breath, the top elevation is 12,300 feet above sea level. The Breckenridge Ski Resort also kicked off today the new opening lift time of 8:30 a.m. giving you the opportunity to ski more and access to the powder first thing in the morning.

Breckenridge Ski Resort was unable to open last Friday due to Mother Nature's warmer temperatures and drier fall.  Snowmaking efforts were slowed until this last week when the weather took a turn.  The temperatures are much cooler and snow has started to fall.  Breckenridge will be officially opening this Friday, November 14th!  So get your skis and snowboarders ready for a great kick off to the ski season!

Mother Nature has not been very friendly to the Breckenridge ski resorts this fall.  Going into the 2014/2015 ski season, there has been little snow that has blanketed the ground.  The temperatures have also not been favorable, with temperatures higher than normal.  The Breckenridge ski season was suppose to kickoff on Halloween, but because of the warmer temperatures, snowmaking operations have been limited.  This Friday, November 7th, the ski season will start with a bang when three ski resorts start their lifts.  Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, and Keystone having been preparing for opening day, by making snow, with the help of the help of Mother Nature and the last storm.  According to Laura Parquette, Keystone’s spokeswomen, “The last week has…
