Did you know that our quiet little mountain town hosts one of the biggest and best snow sculpture competitions anywhere in the world? The International Snow Sculpture Championships will kick off on January 23 this year and 94 grueling hours later, judges will decide the 2023 winners! Teams will travel from Germany, Denmark, Great Britain, Lithuania, India, Italy, Switzerland and across the USA to compete in this world-class event. The massive 12-foot-tall art pieces are impressive to walk amongst during the day but if you can make it by after dark, the “Grand Illumination” with the finished sculptures lit to perfection showcases this outdoor museum in absolutely mind-blowing fashion!

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are only required for viewing on Saturday, January 28 (because that is the busiest day to view).

The sculptures will stand for just a short time - until February 1.  Don’t miss out on this internationally   recognized event right here in Breckenridge. You can find all the details online at GoBreck.com

This amazing video from the Breckenridge Resort Chamber showcases the town’s 30+ year history with snow sculpture.
