Today kicks off the annual celebration of Ullr Fest in Breckenridge. Grab your Viking horns and start doing your Ullr dance! We need some fresh powder. Ullr Fest is celebrating its 53rd year with events that you will not want to miss. Tonight, the festivities begin with the Breck Ascent Series, the crowning of the Ullr King and Queen, and Breck's Got Talent. Tomorrow is the most bizarre parade you will ever witness! The Ullr parade is known for its quirkiness- with people underdressed for the frigid temperatures, doing back flips on skis off of a truck, and hot tubing down Main Street. And the family events continue on with the Ullr Bonfire, Ullr ice plunge, and Ullympics. Join in on the fun from January 13-16, 2016.

Why do we through an annual celebration for Ullr, the norse god of snow? We really appreciate the 300 plus inches of snow that we get each winter season. And as the years have passed (since the mountain hippies started this tradition), Ullr Fest has evolved into days of celebrating. I hope that you can make it to the festivities and help us thank Ullr for the waist deep powder and some of the best snow in North America.
