A Breckenridge Spring Tradition will take place again on April 16. The Imperial Challenge is equal parts grueling and fun. This pseudo triathlon pits competitors against each other on a bike ride or run up the roads twisting through the Peak 7 neighborhood, then up the snow from the base of Peak 8, past the T Bar, to the tippy top of the Imperial Chairlift. Once participants summit, it’s a race back down to the base of the Independence Super Chair at Peak 7. Categories vary from ultralight SkiMo gear to more traditional AT gear to running cleats, snowboards or snowshoes. Two-person relay teams can also enter the fun!
