July 4th is fun summer event.  Come join in the fun and see how Breckenridge celebrates the holiday in mountain style!

Start your day with the Independence Day 10K Trail Run, 7 am.  This scenic 10k trail running race offers up some of the best views in the Breckenridge area, while finishing at Carter Park, just in time to catch the Main Street parade and other festivities.  

Then annual Breckenridge Parade begins with The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race, 9:30 am.  Come cheer on riders as they embark on a 50 mile journey on the beautiful trails throughout the Breckenridge area.   Following the bikers, the Main Street Parade will begin around 10 am.  Following the parade in the Blue River Plaza, listen to the reading of the Declaration of…

If you are into golfing, then you probably dream of playing at some of the most beautiful places in the United States.  Playing at Pebble Beach, Augusta National and other spots would be a dream come true!  Now playing golf in Breckenridge might be added to a golfer's dream list.

The Breckenridge Golf Course is well known among the locals of Summit County.  Last month, Golfweek Magazine announced the top 50 places to play golf.  Breckenridge golf course was ranked 25th on the annual list of municipal courses.  According to Bradley S. The days are warming up and the snow is quickly melting away.  To kickoff summer, mountain style, come join the Town of Breckenridge for the 19th Annual Breckenridge Town Party! The tradition was started by the town to thank the locals for all their hard work over the winter.  On June 13th, from 4:30-9 p.m. come enjoy a relaxing mountain evening on the lawn of the Riverwalk Center.  There will be free music, performed by the Wheeler Brothers, socializing, and lots of fun activities for the kids.  And don't forget about the annual Town Photo.  So pack your picnic (or enjoy food and beverages at cost), a blanket and get ready to have some fun at the Annual Breckenridge Town Party!

Back in November, the cities that will be hosting start/finish lines were announced. The USA Pro Cycling Challenge released the 2014 race routes.  The 2014 route will be challenging for riders- with descents and mountaintop finishes.  On August 18th, the riders will start their 550 mile race across the state of Colorado, ending on August 24th in Denver.  According to the owner of the USA Pro Challenge, Rick Schaden, "The 2014 route will be a challenge for the riders and will provide plenty of great viewing opportunities for the spectators. This year is looking like it will be the best yet."

One of the main requirements of buying any real estate property is affordable property insurance.  No lender will mortgage a property unless property insurance is issued and I have never heard of an owner purchasing a property for cash and not obtaining insurance.

Breckenridge and Summit County are in a rather unique location which is why it is a world resort destination, the mountains!  With owning a property in the mountains comes insurance requirements that are different to other areas.  Homes here are typically near or next to National Forest or forested areas.

The vacation home market saw it's best year in 2013 since the National Association of Realtors began tracking in 2003.   In 2013, the vacation home market saw a 30 percent increase in the number of sales.  This being one of the largest gains, the confidence levels of buyers is starting to get stronger.  According to the Wall Street Journal, "Economists note that the vacation-home market was a beneficiary of last year's big gains in the stock market and rising home values, bringing buyers more wealth and confidence."  Because of this "wealth effect", many buyers are looking at real estate as a solid investment.  For 2013, the vacation home sales made up 13 percent of the total U.S. homes sales.  This is up from 2012, when the vacation market only totaled…
