“We are now in the mountains and they are in us, kindling enthusiasm, making every nerve quiver, filling every pore and cell of us.” - John Muir, My First Summer in the Sierra

Now is the time to plan your summer climbs! How many of Colorado’s fourteen-thousand-foot peaks have you tackled? It’s important to plan in advance so you are certain to get up and down before the afternoon clouds roll in. There is some great information online about selecting the right climb. Also, the Next Page bookstore on Frisco’s Main Street sells some good local hiking guidebooks.

If your sights are set on Quandary Peak, be sure to visit ParkQuandary.com for updated information on trailhead parking reservations. A new system was implemented last summer and parking is now available by reservation only. Last summer, Summit Express ran free shuttles from Breckenridge to the trailhead and back every 30 minutes. Check the website for updated Summer 2022 information. ParkQuandary.com
