If you are into golfing, then you probably dream of playing at some of the most beautiful places in the United States.  Playing at Pebble Beach, Augusta National and other spots would be a dream come true!  Now playing golf in Breckenridge might be added to a golfer's dream list.

The Breckenridge Golf Course is well known among the locals of Summit County.  Last month, Golfweek Magazine announced the top 50 places to play golf.  Breckenridge golf course was ranked 25th on the annual list of municipal courses.  According to Bradley S. Klein, the editor in charge of the Golfweek's Best Course ranking, being in the elite 1 percent is pretty impressive.  It is an honor to have the Breckenridge Jack Nicklaus golf course ranked with other prestigious golf courses that regularly appear on the PGA Tour or the U.S. Open,  including Bethpage Black (ranked #1), Chambers Bay (ranked #2) and Torrey Pines (ranked #4).

There were nearly 1,300 municipal golf courses nationwide that were considered in the poll.  Course evaluators focused on the course layout and condition, quality of hazards, and hole variety.  The biggest question that course evaluators asked themselves was, "How cool was it to spend the last four and a half hours on the course?"  The list was then narrowed to the top 175 golf courses.  Breckenridge Golf Course has made the list in the past.  Last year, the course was ranked 34th, so the move up to 25th was very impressive.  The Breckenridge residents and visitors are very fortunate to have such a great course in their own backyard.

Note: There are several other golf courses in the Summit County area- The Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks, Copper Creek and Keystone's Ranch and River courses- but they are privately owned, making them ineligible to be considered for the Golfweek's Best Course ranking.
